Located in a popular residential street in Highbury, close to Newington Green, this stylish Architect-designed one bedroom flat offers contemporary urban living within a private purpose built End of Terrace. The property, which is on the ground floor, has wooden floors throughout and doors from the open plan living space onto a private south facing balcony with direct access to a beautifully landscaped shared garden. There is also a private brick shed to the rear suitable for storing two bikes.
The property is a short walk from the leafy open spaces of Highbury Fields and Clissold Park and is conveniently situated within walking distance of Canonbury Station (Zone 2) and within easy reach of Newington Green, the restaurants and boutiques of Upper Street and Church Street but also the bars and creative studios of Dalston. The property is sold with Share of Freehold and no onward chain
Why we love our flat (What our sellers say)
We have loved living in this flat, particularly the first coffee of the day with the doors to the balcony swung open to enjoy a view across the garden to the mature oak tree and the attractive Victorian terraces beyond. A garden in Zone 2 is a rare treat, providing a true urban oasis and a fantastic space to host a BBQ. Being south facing, sun enters the living space all day, creating a bright home - one we have enjoyed for over 7 years.
The property is in an excellent location, being central to and within walking distance of Highbury, Angel, Stoke Newington and Dalston. The wide array of independent businesses in Newington Green itself create a relaxed community feel. The renowned 'Newington Green fruit and veg' store is arguably the best green grocers in London; Acoustic cafe is perfect for an alfresco brunch; Trangallan - is a cultural gastro hub of talent; the Peanut Vendor is great for unique vintage homewares; and Cirrik for obscene portions of the tastiest Turkish charcoal grill! For more coffee and culture, the Rio cinema, Arcola Theatre, Vortex Jazz club, Oto cafe and the fabulous 'Tina we salute you' are within a short walk. Two great local pubs, the Snooty fox and the Alma are only 2 minutes walk away. Outstanding local leisure facilities include: Clissold leisure centre (recently refurbished, featuring a hi-tech gym, swimming pool, squash courts and a full programme of aerobic and yoga classes); Clissold park (improved through a National Lottery grant, is amazing to run around, has a popular new cafe, and has everything from tennis courts to a skating park).
Transport
The new 'orange line' from Canonbury is in our view the best transport line in London bringing Highbury &Islington, Camden, Hampstead Heath, Shoreditch, Canary wharf and Stratford international within easy reach.
