North Kessock lies on the south coast of the Black Isle, at the narrows where the Beauly Firth becomes the Moray Firth. Directly opposite is the city of Inverness. Popular with both locals and the vast amount of tourists who visit The Black Isle, the village comprises shops, post office, doctors and dentists as well as an excellent primary school which feeds into the prestigious Fortrose Academy. There is a large car park which is sited on the shore, and this provides excellent parking for visitors to the village. Just off the A9, and before the North Kessock turn off is located the Dolphin and Seal Centre, and North Kessock Tourist Information Centre, both very popular, and as they have no restaurant/cafeteria on site, a handy a flight of steps leads from here down to the main street where the White Cottage Tea Room, is located. This provides a steady stream of visitors and tourists to the caf?. At times the Dolphins can be seen playing in the bay from the Tea Room windows.
