When we first moved here we realised the property badly needed upgrading as it was so old fashioned. However, the position was so special that we knew it was where we wanted to live. We have always enjoyed doing up houses and had the opportunity to modernise and redesign the entire house and garden ourselves to create the property as it is today. While we shall miss the place we feel it is now too big for us and we hope another family will be able to enjoy it as much as we have.
It has always been a great home for entertaining – whether it is the grandchildren taking over virtually every room, hosting a party in the lounge and family/dining room, friends joining us for a meal in the formal dining room or guests enjoying a swim and a barbecue, everyone is made to feel welcome.
We love the fact that we have private access to the sandy cove between Stone Bay and Joss bay so the kids can safely get to the beach. We will continue to stay in Broadstairs as it is a wonderful place to live with its sandy beaches, individual shops and a myriad of bars and restaurants. It also includes some excellent private and grammar schools and the high speed train makes commuting to London much quicker than it used to be.
