Property description

Built in the 1800's and sympathetically extended in recent years, this beautiful period home set on a large plot, not only has plenty of character and charm, but views that are likely to take your breath away.

As you drive up the lane to Bilting railway crossing, there is something very endearing about phoning up the railway at the signal box to see if it is safe to cross. It's like having the privacy and security of your own gated estate. Beyond the crossing, you are met with sublime countryside views and this enchanting period home.

The garden plot 0.555 acres have been landscaped to enhance the surroundings. From the mature vineyards to the rolling lawn and carefully planted secret garden, not only will you enjoy being outdoors but your children would be in their element with many places to hide and play. You are also likely to see a variety of birds and country wildlife so you can enjoy being one with nature.

You can look forward to playing a game of tennis whenever the mood takes you. The court was resurfaced approximately 4 years ago.

The owners have installed a stunning new bathroom suite within the last year and the modern fitted kitchen/breakfast room was refitted in 2016. There is potential to open up the en-suite into the adjacent bedroom to create a large additional family bathroom.

What the Owner says:

When we first set eyes on our house in 1986, we were blown away by the setting. The views were simply magical and we knew straightaway that it was where we wanted to raise our family. In 1990, we had an extension built which doubled the size of the house. We ensured that it was in keeping with the original build to retain its charm.
On a warm summers evening, my wife and I will often go and sit under the arbour at the end of the garden with a glass of wine and take in the views over the rolling countryside. In the distance, you can see a footbridge over the river. We have been known to take a walk down to the river and have a swim. It's those simple pleasures that have really captured the beauty of our home for us.
