Property description

Stunning BRAND NEW highly individual CONTEMPORARY house in the course of construction, extreme village outskirts location adjoining countryside and views to Dartmoor, gardens and grounds to about three quarters of an acre, architecturally designed 4 bedroomed family accommodation – estimated completion early Autumn 2015 – NO CHAIN!

This BRAND NEW highly individual detached house is superbly located on the extreme outskirts of Lewdown well away from main roads, adjoining countryside, and enjoying wooded views towards Dartmoor. The house has been architecturally designed in an attractive modern contemporary style, and offers 4 bedroomed family accommodation over 2 floor levels, with well-designed open plan living spaces, all to be finished to a high specification. The kitchen is to be fully fitted with oaks worktops, island unit, and a modern contemporary flint grey finish to cupboards.

The property is set in fantastic grounds which in all extend to about three quarters of an acre, plus there is a detached double garage with workshop, and ample off road parking for several vehicles.

The house is currently undergoing construction, with an anticipated completion to be around late summer/early autumn 2015.  We are informed that it will carry a 10 year architect’s certificate.

Lewdown is a pretty Devon village located about 11 miles south east of Okehampton and 27 miles from Crediton.  The village is a scattering of houses around an ancient granite cross, and it has a post office/general store, public house and village hall.  There is a primary school at Lewtrenchard which is a short drive about a mile to the east.  Okehampton offers an excellent range of shops and services, three supermarkets including a Waitrose, modern hospital and leisure centre. The town has schooling from infant to sixth form level and gives direct access to the A30 dual carriageway, providing a direct link west into Cornwall and east to the cathedral and university city of Exeter, with its M5 motorway main line and international air connections. The Dartmoor National Park is famed for its hundreds of square miles of superb unspoilt scenery with many opportunities for riding, walking and outdoor pursuits and there is also easy access to the north and south coasts of Devon with attractive beaches and delightful coastal scenery.

DIRECTIONS  From Crediton take the A377 and the B3215 for about 16 miles to Okehampton.  Proceed through the town following signs to the A30.  At Sourton Down cross (nr a Travelodge Hotel) turn right as signed to Launceston, Bridestowe and Lewdown.  Follow this road for about 7 miles until arriving in Lewdown.  In the centre of the village by the granite cross (just past the post office) turn left, and follow the lane for about 0.15 miles.  Farviews is the last property on your left before leaving the village.
