To the north is the rugged North Cornish coast famed for quaint former fishing villages and popular family surfing beaches. To the west are the open spaces of Bodmin Moor. From the property it is only 1/4 of a mile by quiet country lane to open moorland ideal for walking and riding. To the east is Dartmoor National Park, and to the south the hidden secrets of the Lyhner and Tamar Valleys steeped in 17th century mining history and renowned for salmon fishing.
There is a good selection of state and private schools in the surrounding towns of Launceston, Tavistock and Plymouth. Primary education and a well thought of local Theatre is 1.5 miles at Upton Cross.
