Property description
This property is a real gem of a find, tucked away just a short stroll from Steyning’s main high street.
Built circa 1934, this 3 bedroom end of terrace house has been lovingly crafted into a home by the current owners, who have added a fresh contemporary twist into the classic design of the period, retaining a number of beautiful character features, such as the attractive original fireplace in the bay fronted living room, while introducing a stylish modern kitchen area, double glazing throughout and adding a new boiler into the loft space.
Perfect for anyone who is looking for the charm of an older property, but without the time to update or modernise themselves.
The heart of the home sits within the kitchen area which now flows into an impressive ground floor extension, creating a highly sociable open plan area that families can relax in together, or as a great space for entertaining friends over a dinner party.
The separate lounge provides an alternative area to curl up in and watch a film or read book perhaps. The property sits within a highly impressive plot with a rear garden accessed via a side pathway or through French doors from the ground floor extension, while an unusually large front garden sets the building well back from the road and in the summer months is kept suitably private by its bordering trees and shrubs.
What the Owner says:
We bought this house with a certain emotional attachment as we had grown up in Steyning and have family ties going back many years in the area. We felt it would be the perfect spot for us, being within easy reach of the very centre of the town.
We hadn’t intended on taking on a project, but it was the right house for us at the time. We threw ourselves into a full refurbishment and modernised throughout, while also extending the ground floor to create our beautiful home.
It is only now due to an unexpected opportunity that we have decided to move on to a new property in the town.
