Property description

Constructed in 1991, this plot was originally the tennis courts for the listed farmhouse house next door. It was a condition of the build that the property had to be in keeping with the original farmhouse and so this is why this property looks like an authentic period cottage and this theme continues throughout this beautiful home with one exception.

Unlike many older cottages, this home has really good size rooms, many of which have views to the front and rear so you can take in the greenery views from either angle. The hallway and landing are spacious and airy and with farmhouse style doors and cupboards, as well as an open fireplace to the lounge, it only adds to the abundance of character in the property.

You can image sitting round the fire on a cold winters night, whilst looking on out to the well stocked and private gardens through the beautiful Georgian style windows. It's like the traditional depiction of what every home looks like when you've never visited England, like those beautiful homes you see in the movies.

On a mild evening, you can sit out under the storm porch and relax with a glass of wine. By day, you can watch the children play out in the garden.

In 2009, the previous owners had planning permission to erect a double garage in place of the off road parking. Although this has now lapsed, the new owners may be able to resubmit the plans again.

What the Owner says:

We had driven past this house years before and it had always caught our eye. When it came on the market, we jumped at the chance to go and have a look at the property. The inside was as charming as the outside, albeit it did need some updating but we were instantly smitten.

We loved the fact that it felt so cosy and tucked away, almost countryfied, with no light pollution, yet it was so close to everything. We can walk to the local shops and restaurants in less than 10 minutes.

We have always enjoyed sitting out in the garden to watch the wildlife. We often see robins, magpies and even woodpeckers. There's also nothing like waking up in the morning to bird song!

We had a new kitchen put in with granite work tops and integrated appliances and in February 2015, we had a new boiler installed.
