Property description
An immaculate retreat in an idyllic Ashdown Forest position which is Eco-Friendly to run: sounds almost too good to be true, but such a residency does exist.
The leafy drive to this detached bungalow sets the tone for your surroundings.
Pull up and take advantage of plenty of off road parking: no issues when all the family or friends come over. As one would expect with a detached bungalow there is plenty of flexible living space.
The star of the show is the extended kitchen/diner with a feature vaulted ceiling complete with roof line windows. Patio doors invite you out on to the large decked area and in the warmer months this cries out for entertaining. The dining area can easily accommodate a proper dining table. With the set up designed to be open plan it allows all of the family or guests to sit patiently but still be able to converse whilst meals are prepared.
An incredibly large utility area is impressive and can be accessed from both the rear and the front: perfect for removing muddy boots post countryside stroll to 'Pooh Bridge'. The separate lounge is not only bathed in sunlight (when the sun shines!) but a great place for relaxing after a tough day.
Three bedrooms (of which two are doubles) complete the living accommodation. The master has an en-suite shower room and the main bathroom is equally as impressive.
The seclusion of the rear garden was the perfect environment for the current owners to add a 19ft summer house.
What the Owner says:
We were looking to find a home that was in a countryside setting, but that worked in terms of our commute to work. This setting was ideal and the house was too. We were very impressed with the rear garden as well as the space in the house.
Since moving in we have installed solar panels and a new boiler which is powered by wood pellets. More importantly we are able to claim back from the 'RHI' which can amount to circa £2000 per annum (more information is available on request). Our annual running costs for the heating and the hot water are circa £900 per annum.
We'll miss the peace and tranquillity of this setting, but also the ability to work from the office in the garden.
